KRQE's New Mexico Frontiers video features innovative NNMC Parkinson’s glove project KRQE's New Mexico Frontiers spotlighted a remarkable project to develop a glove to relieve Parkinson's symptoms, developed by Northern New Mexico College Associate Professor Steve Cox, his engineering students and Española Valley High School Math, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) students. KRQE’s Chad Brummett produced the segment, which really captures the essence of the project and the impact it can have on community members with Parkinson’s. Northern thanks Ed Villarejo, who agreed to be filmed as he was fitted with a prototype of the glove.

Northern Welcomes the Cast and Crew of Bear Grease Monday night, August 19, marked a truly special occasion at Santa Claran Hotel as the Northern community gathered to honor the talented cast and crew of Bear Grease with a warm and heartfelt dinner. This event was a celebration of creativity, culture, and community, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and local supporters to recognize the extraordinary effort behind this unique production.
Celebrating first Darrin’s Place Wildland Fire Fighting course grads Northern New Mexico College’s Adult Education and Continuing Education programs are branching out, bringing opportunities for obtaining practical skills into the broader community. This summer, Adult Ed teamed up with Darrin’s Place to bring its Wildland Firefighting program to the rehab center’s residents. Twenty students successfully completed the course and obtained their Wildland Firefighting certificates.
